The professional journey of our company began in 1980 with a small sheet metal workshop in Salaspils. Over 45 years of practice, our craftsmanship has evolved into a systematic engineering approach: integrating precise solutions detailing, in-house manufacturing, and a philosophy that views a roof as a complex engineering system rather than a mere installation phase.
Since 2007, the company has operated as an independent entity, and since 2014, our expertise has been bolstered by advanced engineering education and international practice. Experience gained through high-profile projects in Sweden and active involvement in the global professional community has allowed us to implement solutions focused on precision, longevity, and superior execution quality.

Today, GUSEVS combines the legacy of two generations, an engineering mindset, and advanced in-house production. This synergy allows us to execute projects of any complexity with total quality control and meticulous attention to the details that define a roof's lifespan.
1980
Founding of the sheet metal workshop in Salaspils – the beginning of professional sheet metal fabrication.
1992
Establishment of "Skārdnieks," transitioning the traditional workshop into a formal corporate enterprise.
2007
Founding of GUSEVS. Beginning of systematic growth: investment in machinery and transition to complex architectural projects.
2007-2014
Academic studies in the UK (Engineering and Management, Manufacturing Management) alongside practical training, establishing an engineering-led approach.
2014
Return to Latvia and active expansion. Strengthening the manufacturing base and project portfolio.
2017
Entry into the Swedish market, operating under the highest international standards for quality and technology.

Participation in professional championships and integration into the international roofing community, including roles on expert juries.

Coach of the Latvian National Team at the World Championship for Young Roofers (Switzerland).

We formalize our warranty obligations in every contract, tailored to the specific project type and technical solutions applied. Should any questions arise, we conduct a root-cause analysis to ensure all technical decisions are data-driven and project-specific.
Our in-house production facility and permanent base in Latvia ensure organizational stability and the capacity to support our projects throughout their entire lifecycle.

Alexander Gusev is a practicing specialist with an engineering background and over 20 years of hands-on experience in the roofing industry. Having entered the profession in his childhood, he continues a family legacy that dates back to 1980. Over two decades, he has pioneered an approach where a roof is treated as a sophisticated system of technical solutions.
With higher education from the UK in Engineering and Management and Manufacturing Management, Alexander bridges the gap between traditional craftsmanship and modern industrial design. He is directly involved in solutions development, structural engineering, and key technical decisions for every project.
